Real Health: Karl Henry speaks to Rhiannon Lambert
How can we eat more naturally without feeling deprived? What do processed foods do to our health? And how do we get back to basics in a simple and realistic way?
Nutritionist Rhiannon Lambert, Sunday and Irish Times bestseller, and author of The Unprocessed Plate joins me on this week’s episode of the Real Health podcast.
I asked the author about social media influencers going into supermarkets and talking about food ingredients online. The Nutritionist explained, “I think food is such an emotive thing. We’ve all got our own unique relationship with it, and I think for somebody to start demonizing baked beans, because they’re in category four of Nova, is just ridiculous because I’m a mom, I’ve got two kids, and I use baked beans.”
The food expert had simple tips for listeners during our conversation. The writer highlighted that, “How we consume food matters. Reduce processed meat, add more whole foods, try to cook at least one more meal a week. Don’t rely on those ready-meals if you can. I know it’s not always possible and don’t fear everything.”
