A doctor who has spent decades ‘studying food as medicine’ has shared the diet he follows every day to ‘feel 40 years younger’. Most people understand the importance of eating a balanced diet for optimal health. But the doctor explained that eating well can also help you ‘feel younger, stronger, and more energised than ever.’

Dr Mark Hyman, a globally-renowned medical expert and educator, regularly shares updates with his millions of social media followers. In a new post on Instagram this week, he claimed that when you eat certain foods, your body stops ageing on the clock everyone assumes is fixed.’

In his post, Dr Hyman wrote: “I just turned 66. Here’s everything I eat in a day to feel 40 years younger.” He then shared examples of typical breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner.

As he explained, Dr Hyman starts the day with scrambled eggs cooked in ghee, topped with spinach, tomato, feta, and avocado. The easy dish is cooked in one pan. The doctor also drinks a berry smoothie with wild blueberries, goat whey, almond milk, and creatine, and he takes supplements in the morning.

For lunch, Dr Hyman enjoys a grass-fed burger patty, sweet potato fries, and a large salad with balsamic vinaigrette. His salad includes mixed greens, cucumber, radish, and carrot.

Next, the doctor shared his go-to snack: fresh fruit and homemade granola with nuts and seeds. Lastly, Dr Hyman went to one of his favourite restaurants for dinner, where he had a tomahawk steak and a salad with miso, lemon, and parmesan.

In his caption, Dr Hyman wrote: “After decades of studying food as medicine, here’s what I eat in a day to feel younger, stronger, and more energised than ever.” The doctor also explained how his diet has improved his health.

He claimed: “When you eat whole, real food consistently, your energy stabilises, your inflammation drops, your brain works better, and your body stops ageing on the clock everyone assumes is fixed. Every bite you take is a message to your DNA. Make it a good one.”
