If you think there’s nothing good on TV, think again. This week’s TV highlights promise to save you from channel-flicking woes and streaming fatigue.
Amongst this week’s list of goodies is the return of Guy Ritchie’s swanky Netflix series The Gentleman.
Meanwhile, Suranne Jones’ exciting BBC 1 thriller also returns to the fray this week; dubbed a “sharp submarine thriller” by The Guardian, it’s the very definition of a must watch but it’s not the only one.

Trigger Point, season 4
ITV’s crime thriller Trigger Point is making a comeback with season four.
This season Lana Washington (Vicky McClure) and her fellow EXPOS are hellbent on keeping London safe from a group of professional mercenaries who may just be their biggest challenge yet.
Joining McClure this season is Shetland and This City is Ours star Julie Graham.
Trigger Point season 4 is available from Sunday 30 August at 9pm on ITV1.

Vigil, season 3
Everyone’s favourite crime thriller is returning to the small screens this week and this time we’re heading to the remote Arctic.
The third instalment of BBC1’s beloved series will see Suranne Jones and Rose Leslie reprising their roles as DCI Amy Silva and DI Kirsten Longacre respectively.
When a member of a covert British Special Forces mission is murdered on a research station in the remote Arctic it is down to Silva and Longacre to solve the case, however they quickly find themselves embroiled in danger.
Vigil season 3 is available from Sunday 30 August at 9pm on BBC 1.

The Gentlemen, season 2
Theo James (The White Lotus) is back as soldier-turned-gangster Duke Edward in Netflix’s crime drama The Gentlemen, and we couldn’t be more thrilled.
It’s been a year since James’ Eddie formed an alliance with crime honcho Susie Glass (Kaya Scodelario) and her criminal overlord father Bobby (Ray Winstone), with the unlikely trio working hard to expand Bobby’s criminal empire on Duke’s estate.
However, when Bobby’s erratic decisions begin to impact the business, Eddie and Susie must decide whether to intervene or risk losing it all.
The Gentlemen season 2 is available from Thursday 3 September on Netflix.

The Game, season 2
Season two of The Game sees former Detective Huw Miller (Jason Watkins) and his wife Alice (Sunetra Sarker) retreating to an isolated seaside home.
This follows the tumultuous ending of last season, in which Huw was stabbed by psychopathic serial killer Patrick (Granchester’s Robson Green). Now with Patrick safely behind bars, Huw thinks he’s free, until his newfound solace is interrupted. His trouble with Patrick is far from over.
The Game is available from Tuesday 1 September at 9pm on Channel 5.
