Coronation Street’s Betsy Swain gives Dylan Wilson a frosty reception next week as he finally visits her again. After weeks of keeping his distance, Dylan seeks a catch-up with Betsy, but soon fears that their relationship will never be the same.
When Dylan first turns up at the Connor-Swain household, Carla confirms that she doesn’t have a problem with him being there. However, she also warns him to quickly make himself scarce if Lisa comes home unexpectedly.

As Dylan sits with Betsy, she reveals that her recent lunch out with her friend Lauren Bolton didn’t go according to plan.
Betsy recalls how she knocked some cutlery over, and Debbie misread the situation by loudly accusing her of being drunk.
Although Dylan is dismayed to hear what’s been going on, Betsy can’t resist making him feel uncomfortable with some jokes at his expense…

Corrie kicked off the big story earlier this year, when Betsy was rushed to hospital after suffering a stroke. It was later revealed that Betsy’s health scare was sparked when she and Dylan had experimented with strangulation during sex.
Asked recently whether the pair can make it through their challenges, Liam Mccheyne – who plays Dylan – explained: “I would really like to think so. Watching two young people face something this catastrophic, go through the wobbles and hopefully come out on the other side together would be really powerful.
“As an actor, portraying that level of struggle and finding a way back around is incredibly rewarding.”
He added: “Dylan still hasn’t truly come to terms with what has happened. This is a life-changing event that will stay with him forever. He has put his girlfriend in the hospital and given her a permanent injury.

“It’s the sheer embarrassment of it – he wants to hide away and just get on with normal life, but how on earth does an 18-year-old balance all of that?
“That’s what I want the audience to remember: just how young these two characters are. In a way, they are battling through this nightmare together, feeling like it’s them against the world.”
