A super-fit grandmother has disclosed the punishing exercise routine she follows daily to maintain her toned bottom – a staggering 200 squats.
Andréa Sunshine may be a grandmother approaching her sixties, but is frequently mistaken for someone decades her junior due to her youthful looks and sculpted figure.
However, it doesn’t come effortlessly to the 56-year-old, who must work hard to preserve her appearance, and explains her physique has taken “decades” to develop. “Staying sculpted is my rebellion – it’s my statement that maturity doesn’t mean decline,” the fitness coach, from Brazil but currently residing in Rome, told What’s The Jam.

“Society quietly tells women to shrink as they age, to become invisible, softer and quieter – but I refuse that narrative.” Andréa frequently receives remarks from people amazed by her age.
She explained: “People are usually shocked when I say I’m 56. Some think I’m in my early 40s, some even say late 30s – especially when I’m training or wearing gym clothes. But I don’t take it as vanity – I take it as proof that discipline works.
“My muscle tone and strength feel closer to a woman in her late 30s or early 40s, who trains seriously. But the difference is, I’ve been building this body for decades – it isn’t a summer transformation, it’s consistency over a lifetime.
“I train because I respect my body, and because I want to walk into every room at 55, 65, 75 and feel powerful. Fitness isn’t about looking younger – it’s about refusing to disappear.”

Andréa, who is currently in a relationship with Federico, a man 20 years her junior at 36, has amassed an Instagram following of 482,000, where she provides a glimpse into her intense fitness routine.
A recent post attracted thousands of likes from fans as she shared a bold snap of her toned derrière.
Her secret? A non-negotiable regimen of 200 squats daily.
She stated: “The goal isn’t just aesthetic, it’s longevity. Squats strengthen the legs, glutes, core and balance. As we age, lower-body strength becomes essential for independence. Of course, I love the sculpted shape it gives – let’s be honest, I enjoy feeling strong and feminine at the same time.
“But the real goal is power: power in my body, power in my posture, power in my confidence. This body wasn’t born ready and it’s not about perfection. It’s about consistency, patience and daily choices.”
