ROME, N.Y. — The YMCA of the Greater Tri-Valley in Rome has received $300k to make renovations to its Health and Fitness Area.
The money was gifted from NYSTEC. With the donation, the YMCA was able to upgrade their entire fitness area on the second floor.
A major part of it is the new cardio room, which has new, more modern equipment.
Y CEO Hank Leo said the new and improved space will be better for functionality.
“We think the world of our friends at NYSTEC,” Leo said. “Everybody we have met from that company and their entire leadership group has been tremendous, so we couldn’t be more thankful.”
He said in addition to their childcare program downstairs, the upgrades will draw in more families.
“Part of our mission is to make the positive impact in our community, and this is our community,” said Jasminka Husic, the CFO of NYSTEC. “We have employees that live here, that live in the Utica area; this is our home.”
