The second season of The Celebrity Traitors arrived on our screens this week, bringing with it a new cohort of VIP contestants, clandestine turret meetings and increasingly bonkers challenges – all set against the dramatic backdrop of the ‘Traitors Castle’ in the Scottish Highlands.

Naturally, while we’ve already been taking note of Claudia Winkleman’s covetable country-phile wardrobe (in particular, that cashmere bomber jacket), another style star has emerged in the form of contestant (and traitor), Maya Jama. In episode one, the presenter arrived at the castle in a tan double-breasted Saint Laurent trench coat, which features a belted tie around the neck.

But it was a second piece of outerwear seen in episode two that really caught our attention. Jama arrived for breakfast wearing jeans with an oversized furry jacket in a striking mustard shade. The divisive item instantly had viewers drawing comparisons to Big Bird and the Honey Monster online, which the presenter herself was quick to respond to, commenting: “It was cold as hell in the castle OK,” on X, followed by laughing emojis.

The jacket – a giant-shoulder bolero crafted from Mongolian sheepskin – was actually created by the London-based brand Agro Studio. It retails for £600 and comes in a variety of colourways, including dark wine and black.

Since launching their brand in 2021, Agro Studio designers George Oxby and Angus Cockram have become known for their experimental, directional pieces – often custom-made – which are proving particularly popular with music stars as stagewear, having been worn by everyone from Raye and Madonna to Sienna Spiro, Lily Allen and Katseye.

It’s been reported that Maya Jama packed a total of 10 coats for her trip to the Traitors Castle, so here’s hoping the faithful don’t manage to uncloak her anytime soon…
