Naomi Osaka got back out on the Wimbledon court today for her women’s singles second round match against Russia’s Anastasia Gasanova. And for her look, she brought back her kimono ensemble from Tokyo-based independent designer Hana Yagi—but gave it a bridal refresh.

This time, rather than wear the embroidered floor-length robe—like she did on Monday, for her match against France’s Elsa Jacquemot—she wrapped the obi right over her Nike kit. The classic corset-like piece featuring chunky ropes tied into elaborate knots and bows cinched her little white Nike set, which consisted of a rosette-adorned zip-up jacket and a frilly, ruffled tennis skirt. Underneath her jacket, a sleeveless top with more rosettes mirrored it.

While the tennis pro’s original kimono look was inspired by Japanese ceremonial dress and made from a vintage shiromuku—a classic white kimono worn by brides—this deconstructed second look leaned more into Western bridal wear thanks to the tiered white train that was attached to Osaka’s tennis skirt. With ruffled layers in a semi-sheer white fabric, the train trailed behind Osaka as she walked onto the grassy court at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.

A white visor and snow-white Nike sneakers kept the look grounded, while little dangly diamond-and-pearl earrings maintained the glamour alive even as the athlete shed her layers to play the match.

Osaka defeated Gasanova in straight sets today, and has now advanced to the third round of the tournament. She is set to face Russian player Daria Kasatkina on Friday, July 3.
