Coleen Rooney has revealed the unconventional habit that helps her stay active, even on her busiest days.

‘I do squats in the shower every morning,’ the media personality recently told Stylist.

‘Even if I’m rushing about, I will find a time throughout the day where I’ve got to do them. Otherwise it plays on my mind that I haven’t done my squats. They are my non-negotiables.’

Squeezing exercise into her schedule has become second nature.

‘I’m constantly on the move,’ she added. ‘School runs, gym, meetings, lunch, footie training. My day can be a number of things in one.’

Shower squats aren’t a new addition to Coleen’s fitness regime, however. She previously revealed that she had to replace her usual gym sessions and reformer Pilates classes with bodyweight movement during her time in the I’m a Celebrity jungle.

‘At home every morning when I’m in the shower, I do squats. I get up before the kids and do a routine of squats, and I know if I’ve got them done I can carry on,’ she said in 2024.

‘I would also do a few gym sessions and reformer Pilates, but in the jungle, obviously, it was my squats.’

The total number of reps she does is no small feat either: in total, she completes 126 squats every day.

‘I do 21, 21, 21 of different ones, then I’ll do 63 pulses every morning,’ she explained.

Coleen has practised reformer Pilates for years

Alongside bodyweight squats, reformer Pilates has been a staple in her routine for over a decade.

‘I started reformer Pilates nearly 12 years ago,’ she recently revealed. What began as a way to address a lingering injury soon developed into a long-term passion.

‘I went to a physio because I was suffering with my lower back, which I thought was from pregnancy. The physio ran a Pilates studio, and that’s how I got into it.’

Over the years, consistent movement has helped Coleen feel strong, energised and capable.

‘I’ve always had fitness in my life because my body needs it and benefits from stretching, especially as I’m getting older,’ she added. ‘Movement keeps you young. Now, especially as I’ve got four boys, I feel like I can keep up with them.’
